Canteen Facilities
On a busy night we can provide 120 dinners. This of course requires good and efficient catering facilities.
At the Alison Centre we have very well appointed food preparation area. Our ‘cooks’ are volunteers who have undertaken Food Hygiene training. They produce a wide variety of tasty and filling meals using the gifts that have been received from our fantastic range of well wishers.
This may have been the lady who brings us rhubarb from her garden or Greggs who donate thousands of pasties, pies, cakes and loaves of bread ever year.
One extra ingredient that anyone can bring, that makes all our meals special, is love. We always add this in large amounts! Serving the meals is down to our evening teams.
Many of these folk have already put in a day doing their full-time job but still find the time to help others.
From large jobs to small jobs every job is important.
