Settle Down Photography Exhibition and Auction - Proceeds to Peoples Kitchen
The Settle Down Café in Thornton Street, Newcastle (next to Tilley’s Bar on Westgate Road) is rapidly gaining a reputation for the locally sourced Art they display on the walls.
From Friday 2nd until Monday 19th December there will be a new exhibition by 24 local photographers on the theme of ‘The North East as You’ve Never Seen It’.
Alan Harrison from Washington contacted 20 of his locally based ‘friends’ on the Social Networking Site Flickr and asked them to donate a framed photograph that could be sold in aid of the Newcastle based charity The Peoples’ Kitchen.
Even if you only take a cursory glance at the regional photo groups on Flickr; you will see pictures from every part of the region that can stand shoulder high with the work of Professionals. For this Exhibition Alan selected a broad section of photographers who look at our Region from what he thinks is a ‘different perspective,’ and the finished work, on the walls of the Settle Down Café, is quite staggering in it’s quality and broad range of subjects.
All of the photographs are on sale during the Exhibition between Friday 2nd December and Monday 19th many of the photographers; who come from all points North, South, East and West of what we know as the North East will be at the final auction on Monday 19th December between 5.30 and 7pm.
